What are triennial elections?
Every three years, state and state-integrated school communities vote for the representatives that will govern their schools. Parents and caregivers elect parent representatives, and staff elect staff representatives.
Thinking about joining a school board?
Most New Zealand schools are governed by a school board.
This is a group of people who work together, with staff and students, with whānau, parents and the wider community, to make a positive difference for children’s education!
A board’s strength comes from its community, so they welcome people with different backgrounds – your voice and experience matter. There is a wealth of information available here: Becoming a Board Member.
How to Nominate and Vote
Nomination and voting forms will be sent directly to all eligible voters via email from Election Pilot. If we don't have an email address for you, don't worry—nomination and voting papers will be sent by post, so no one misses out.
These elections are conducted in accordance with the Education and Training Act 2020 and the Education (Board Elections) Regulations 2022. Please note that your name and contact details have been provided to Election Pilot to facilitate these services, as required by legislation. Election Pilot will use your information solely for Horahora School's election services and will delete your details 60 days after the election date, as mandated by law.

Hora Hora School has proudly been part of the Hora Hora community for 115 years.
Our school is nestled beneath Mt Maungatautari, in the heart of rural Waikato. We have a current roll of 44 students from Years 1-8 and operate three classrooms.
Our learning programmes have a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy (with specific attention to the curriculum refresh - Te Mātaiaho). We also provide programmes with a local context, focussing on the environment, history, and education outside the classroom.
Our vision for all ākonga entering Hora Hora School at age 5, and leaving in Year 8, is that they will develop skills and dispositions that will enable them to transition seamlessly into High School and beyond.
Hora Hora School will support children to become confident and capable, life-long learners who can achieve their potential.
We treasure our community partnership and recognise that this is integral to our students’ success, as we strive to provide the best possible education for each and every child.
